Azule welcomes group retreats and group stays for
arts organizations, arts-centered small businesses, artist-led weekend workshops, etc!
Who is eligible?
- Groups of 5-10 participants
- Participants must be 18 years old or older
- For workshops: working in most media will be considered, including experimental media; however, artists working with toxic materials, hazardous machinery, etc. will not be considered due to limitations within the building
- Participants must be comfortable staying in a shared space
Group Rates
$400 per night to rent the entire building
+$200 one-time cleaning fee
+$50 one time administrative fee
Available meeting & breakout rooms
In the communal space on the second floor there is a large and open area typically used for dance and yoga. On the main floor there is a large gathering space with chairs, a small office space with computers connected to wifi, desk space, and a private music room. On the basement floor there is a large studio/work area meant for visual arts, and a darkroom for photography.
We invite groups to join us to enjoy a retreat from everyday life where there is time and space to relax, dream, and create.
Living Room
Where Azule Board & Staff hold their own meetings, this Community Common Area is perfect for semi-informal meetings. The armchairs ensure comfort & can be arranged in any number of ways to accommodate presentations or workshops.
There are additional table seating & work stations scattered through this area for additional group meetings.
Dining Room
Our dining area can accommodate group and buffet-style meals. The two long tables can be utilized as is, or combined for one longer table.
Outdoor & Patios
There are a number of covered & uncovered patio options to accommodate large groups and break-out sessions.
Our main covered porch includes built-in bench seating and is covered. Several smaller porches are scattered around the property, and chairs & tables can easily be added for a variety of needs.
Dance Studio
The large open space can be converted into any number of layouts suitable for presentations, workshops, or meetings.
Music Studio
This large enclosed room is perfect for break-out sessions or closed-door meetings. It’s large enough for workshops and intimate musical performances.
Art Studio
The lower level art studio is sectioned into two open floor spaces. The main Studio area can accommodate larger group meetings with tons of natural light. The smaller elevated stage is also good for presentations or break out sessions.

We live in close proximity to a vibrant Art scene with Galleries and museums from Hot Spring to Asheville. Many local & Indigenous Artists have exhibits and shows throughout the area. A number of regional craft and cultural festivals also run throughout the year.

Outdoor & Adventure
We are located in the heart of Appalachian Mountains where outdoor adventure is a way of life. There are many nearby hiking trails, including the Appalachian Trail, Max Patch, the Laurel River Trail & Pisgah National Forest.
Day Trips
Small town living is the norm for Western North Carolina. We are only a few hours from a number of charming mountain towns and only about 1.5 hrs from Asheville.
Accommodations
On Azule’s second floor, you will find 2 private rooms, each with one queen bed and one twin bed, and 3 bunk beds and a futon in an open shared space.
On the main floor, there is 1 queen bed in an open shared space on the main level, and 1 futon in the music room which can count as a private room.
There is one full bathroom on the second floor and one-half bathroom on the main floor.
The remainder of the structure is communal and includes a full kitchen, dining area, library, and various side rooms and open spaces that serve as work, gathering, and studio spaces as needed.
Azule also has multiple porches and a patio for enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery.
Private Rooms
There are two private rooms that can sleep up to 6 people in two Double Beds & two Single Beds
Bunk Room
Our Bunk Space contains three bunk beds that can sleep up to 6 people in Single Beds
Additional Beds
There are a few additional sleeping nooks, including a Double Bed off the living room and a few futons.
Camping
Camping is offered on a case-by-case basis. All campers are expected to follow leave no trace rules.
