Administrator

Lacy grew up in Rutherfordton, NC, and graduated from Appalachian State University in 2015 with a B.S. in Art Education and a concentration in Psychology. After graduation Lacy has worked as an educator or arts programs coordinator in various settings all over NC. As an education coordinator for the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art in Charlotte, and a programs manager for the Asheville Art Museum, Lacy developed and facilitated a multitude of arts programs for schools and underserved folks in these communities. They’ve also worked in NC public schools K-12 and multiple preschools in Durham, Wilmington, and Asheville.

Lacy is currently a practicing artist focusing on fibers and textiles, specifically needle-felting and soft sculpture. Their current work mostly consists of commissioned pet portraits, but they are working towards a body of work to show in upcoming summer exhibitions. When they’re not teaching or making art they enjoy attending concerts or loving on their cats.

Lacy‘s roots in western NC and passion for community arts drew them to Azule and they are so excited to be able to contribute to such a wonderful space.
