Jen Bracy, an artist and educator from Portland, Oregon, creates multimedia works that span painting, typography, printmaking, collage, and assemblage. Her art delves into the human connection to nature, celebrates the spirit of travel and sense of place, and reveals the hidden beauty in the interplay of found images and discarded materials. A passion for words and typography infuses her work, highlighting her deep engagement with typographic forms and the complexities of human communication.

During her time at Azule, Jen created collages inspired by her journey from the Pacific Northwest to Southern Appalachia. Immersed in this new environment, she developed a prototype for an interactive exhibit designed to encourage the exploration of language and wordplay. Additionally, she began crafting a series of artworks that examine the ways humans adapt to the natural world through biomimicry, highlighting its potential for less-than-positive applications.
