Helms Jarrell is an interdisciplinary artist from Charlotte, NC.
While in residence, Helms worked to expand an ongoing print-based project she’s called A Communitarian’s Almanac and Apothecary Guide, thinking through methods of cultivating the earth and the community for the common good. During our studio visit, we watched as Helms sampled block prints of plants native to North Carolina, considering our relationship with our natural gift-bearers.
