Community Quilt Show
May, 1992 A day-long outdoor exhibition of over fifty handmade quilts and coverlets as well as fabric art all created by local population. Demonstrations of quilting concurrently with exhibition. Purpose was to share with the wider regional community the high level of artistic and handmade crafts talent in the communities outside Hot Springs and Marshall, NC and to aid in establishing a revival of the tradition of community quilt making to celebrate major life events in the family. Live traditional music of the region was performed as part of the exhibit.
