It was revived in 2006 using a Color digital camera. In this new process, each participant becomes both a portrait photographer and a model, who sits in the darkroom, for up to 2 minutes, not knowing when the picture will be shot. Although the exercise can be considered a passive "sitting". the surprise element keeps it active on both sides of the camera.

PORTRAITS

PORTRAITS is a photography project of AZULE, an attempt at building AZULE's local history, using the very simple, universal artistic technique of portraiture.
The project was started in 1974 by Bernard Crespin, who took the black and white pictures with an optical camera. He was standing in the darkroom with the model up to 5 minutes before taking the picture.
